Bristol City Poet Workshop
We were delighted to recently welcome Sukina Noor, the current Bristol City Poet, to É«½ç°É for a special poetry workshop with our students.
The Bristol City Poet is a prestigious role awarded to a local poet who serves as a creative voice for the city, producing commissioned poems and engaging communities through workshops and performances. Sukina Noor, appointed in 2024, is a celebrated poet, spoken word artist, and co-founder of the hip-hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage. Her work explores themes of identity, belonging, and transformation, and she is passionate about using poetry as a bridge to bring people together..
During her visit, Sukina guided students through the process of developing their own poems—drawing inspiration from everyday experiences, emotions, and surroundings. The workshop encouraged students to find their voices and express themselves with confidence and creativity.
We are incredibly proud of the thoughtful and skillful writing our students produced.
It was a truly inspiring session, and we are grateful to Sukina for sharing her time and talent with us.
